3 Biggest Mistakes Using the Law of Attraction

Published by Vicki on

You know how you have that little voice in your head that is always chatting away, commenting, judging, criticizing. It never shuts up. And it’s doing some serious damage to your physical and mental well-being.

Most of us aren’t even aware of this voice in our head – or at least we think that it’s part of us and it’s just the way we are. I’m here to tell you that is a load of crap. It’s not who you are – it’s just a bunch of random thoughts until we give them meaning. And that’s exactly where trouble begins.

That voice in your head is complicated for sure. It helps. It hinders. But it does have an amazing capability to connect to a higher source of inspiration, creativity and joy – when you use it right. Or else it will run amuck…

The trick is to not let it run the show and make you obsess over things you can’t change. But what if you could program this little maniac for success instead of self-destruction? What if you could truly tap into who you are and cut through all the noise?

In fact, it’s crucial that you get a hold on this right now, or your negative thoughts will take you down with the ship. It’s actually already happening…but you might not know it. And the most disturbing thing of all is that it’s either positively or negatively affecting your life whether or not you realize there is something bigger at play here.

It’s called the Law of Attraction and it is one of the guiding principles of the Universe. Your thoughts create your reality, and the Universe will deliver exactly what you think about every day. Period.

Using the Law of Attraction is crucial to your success – at home, at work, at the gym – everywhere. And it’s working on you whether you know it or not. Each thought that you get emotionally attached to has a greater chance at becoming real.

What if I told you you could turn all that negativity around and actually harness your thoughts to create a more positive conversation in your head?

It takes a little practice, but once you take charge of the thoughts in your head, you can make significant, positive changes to your daily routines. And here’s the kicker – you can do it without feeling exhausted or deprived. For reals.

But first, you need to stop doing the things that prevent the Law of Attraction from working positively in your life. Here are 3 of the most common mistakes people make in using the Law of Attraction.

Obsessing over the Wrong Things

Unfortunately, most of us are attaching emotions to the wrong thoughts. We obsess and worry over what we don’t want to happen, and waste our time and energy instead of investing it in what we DO want.

What is the little voice in your head telling you every day? It is crucial to watch your thoughts and know that you can determine which ones are true for you (and which ones are total BS).

One of the basic principles of the Law of Attraction is that what you put your attention on will GROW, so if you’re constantly thinking about the negative (the stuff you don’t want) the Universe will give you more of it.

It’s not that the Universe doesn’t want good things for you. It’s just that the Universe has no opinion about what is good or bad for you – it simply matches the frequency of your thoughts and assumes that is what YOU want. Then it delivers. No questions asked.

Too Much Thinking in the Future or Past

Most of the time, our thoughts are either about what did happen or what might happen. Sometimes this is useful – so we can anticipate danger, or plan an event, but most of the time this just gets us spinning in the wrong direction.

It is the thoughts that you are having right now that determine your future. And just like the Universe doesn’t have a good/bad preference for you, time is also kinda irrelevant to the Universe. It doesn’t know that you’re not present and grounded in your true reality. It just hears what you’re thinking (no matter how unlikely, unproductive, or irrational) and gives you more of that. Again, no judgment.

Trying to Control Everything

So there are things you are responsible for, and things you are not. You can have influence over your actions in the present and shape the future to some extent too, but you can’t control anything completely. The Universe is ultimately responsible for things outside of yourself, and we often exhaust ourselves with worry over how everything will work out. Yes, literally everything.

When we question the Universe, it tends to not deliver. You can chant positive mantras all you want, but if you are constantly doubting the power of the Universe it can’t deliver the goods. Hey, it’s just playing by the rules here.

You might think that you need to manipulate every detail so you can sleep at  night, but the truth is you are not the boss of the Universe. What a relief! And when you can let go of the worry and anxiety about the outcome of future events, you’re becoming the master of your thoughts. Total Jedi trick. no?

Using the Law of Attraction is very simple, powerful and can give a huge boost to your health and fitness plans. And trust me, once you put these principles into action, you will find that the Universe actually gets on board with you. There will be less obstacles and more flow in your daily life. Success will become part of your experience and you’ll make good choices – easily, joyfully.

I’m Vicki Wiepking - a wellness coach, writer and teacher. I love to play outdoors and try not to take anything too seriously - myself especially. I work with busy women who are ready to start a new lifestyle, let go of negative thinking and basically anything else that is weighing them down. I help my clients embrace their best selves and stop listening to the voice that makes them self-sabotage. Yeah, we all have that little voice - and I'll help you make it work for you instead of against you! I have always been a student of alternative health and wellness, and wanted to find a way to combine my love of nutrition, essential oils, yoga, and nature into a productive lifestyle for myself. I started a wellness coaching practice and began working with clients over 15 years ago. Through the years I observed first hand how women specifically needed help in their daily lives on not just physical, but emotional and psychological levels as well. So, I developed the Mind Body Blueprint. It is designed to help busy women achieve their health and fitness goals. But first, a few things about me.... - I love doing laundry.  No ironing, and I don’t really separate colors.  My hubby doesn’t let me touch his clothes.  Maybe that’s why I like it… - I take bubble baths almost every night.  Sanctuary time for sure. - I turn the music up in the car and sing real loud. You do it too, I've seen you. - My favorite shows: Gone with the Wind – Scarlett rocks.  Grace and Frankie – because I love laughing and crying at the same time. - Cooking calms me down…until I get too many things going at once and wreck something.  It all tastes good in the end usually. - Thanks to my yoga practice I can still do the splits and a pretty good handstand.  Cartwheels optional. My hubby and I are obsessed with outdoor adventures. You might find us whitewater rafting, skiing or relaxing on the beach - depending on the season.
