How to Develop a Vacation Mindset

It’s time to get ready for summer vacation – to the lake, the mountains, or the backyard. The location really doesn’t matter, but the mindset does. You could be in the most spectacular place on Earth, but if your thoughts keep dragging you back into the office you may as well be in a wasteland. I mean, why go to all the trouble of planning, packing, and travelling, if you’re still at work mentally?
Did you know that vacations actually make you more productive and successful? We’re not robots and our bodies, minds and spirits need time to rest, recreate and rejuvenate, despite what the “American Overwork” culture demands of us. Developing the skills (yes, skills!) to really disconnect and be present while you’re on vacation is crucial to your overall success both personally and professionally.
In this week’s Wellness Wednesday Workshop we will:
- change the beliefs that keep you from enjoying time off
- develop a deeper purpose for being on vacation
- set recreation and rejuvenation goals
- fully embrace your right to disconnect
So before you hit the road physically you need to check out mentally. Let’s figure out how to let go of the thoughts that keep you tied to your office chair and create ones that help you enjoy the beach chair.
