The 6 Ways You Are Avoiding Self-Care (and what to do about it!)

There is a special time of year that really allows for rest and relaxation – Autumn! The very essence of Nature seems to be saying “Let it go. You’ve worked hard. Reap your rewards.” I find it especially soothing to get out the fuzzy scarves and whip up a cup of Chai. There’s something reassuring about the seasonal rituals and a deep need to snuggle up to a fire. This time of year is self-care heaven.
So why is it so hard to take great care of ourselves? No time. Denial. Not motivated enough. Too many episodes of Schitt’s Creek to watch. There are as many excuses for not taking care of yourself as there are leaves to rake, but eventually it will catch up with you – right around the Holidays, no?
There are tons of ways to practice self-care, however, it’s more than just lighting a candle and drinking tea. That’s a nice start, but if you really want to give your body, mind and spirit a good dose of nurturing you need to see how you’re avoiding taking good care of yourself.
In today’s workshop, you’ll learn:
- What you’re lacking in your self-care routines, and what to do about it.
- How your relationship with time, energy, money and emotions are all linked – in good ways and bad…
- The forbidden secret to making self-care a priority.
I know it sounds easy to include self-care and a little too simple to really make that much of a difference in your daily habits. But that’s the point. It is easy to take care of yourself, once you get out of your own way and start reaping the rewards. (It is harvest season after all. Get yours!)
